Iggy Pop is an American singer-songwriter, musician and actor. It can be said that he was famous since he played a role as a drummer for a local blues band, The Iguanas, in high school. He was better known as a vocalist of influential protopunk band The Stooges with his outrageous and unpredictable stage antics. His popularity has fluctuated over the years along with the change in his music style, ranging from garage rock, hard rock, new wave, jazz, art rock to blues. Typical songs attached with his name include Lust for Life, The Passenger and Real Wild Child.
He attended junior high school in Ann Arbor. He received a lot of care from his parents, who created the best conditions as possible for encouraging him in music path.
He has experienced three marriages in his life. The first time with Wendy Weissberg lasted several weeks in 1968 before coming to an end thereafter. His second wife was Suchi Asano (1984–1999). Most recently, he got married to Nina Alu with two children, Eric Benson and Paulette Benson.
